Cindy Begel On Her Successful TV Writing Career

I have to admit that I decided to do this episode of The Write Start podcast purely for selfish reasons. The episode focuses on becoming a television and movie writer and not a typical print journalist. However, any writer can learn, and be inspired by my guest, Cindy Begel, so I hope you’ll listen.

Cindy Begel is a television writer-producer who has worked for the legendary Garry Marshall and Norman Lear. She’s written for Mork & Mindy, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, The Jeffersons, Head of The Class, Alice, and The New Leave It To Beaver. She has also written for The Martin Short Show, and Mama’s Family. Begel created/wrote all 52 episodes of the animated series The Kids From Room 402. She wrote feature films for Paramount and Universal Studios.
